MISCOUCHE As you follow the North Cape Coastal
Drive toward Miscouche you will be mesmerized by the soothing
song of the birds and the sunlight dancing on the Grand
River.
Why
not spend an afternoon at the Belmont Provincial Park,
a day park that lends itself to peaceful strolls along
the shore, scenic picnics and family fun at the playground.
The community of Miscouche boasts a strong connection
to its roots. Evidence of this can be found at the Acadian
Museum where visitors can explore the 300 year presence
of Acadians on Prince Edward Island. It is here that Atlantic
Canada’s Acadians adopted their national hymn and
flag in 1884. The Museum features an exhibit that will
allow you to discover the fascinating odyssey of Island
Acadians from 1720 to present. It also houses a genealogy
research centre where you can trace your Acadian roots.
This area offers impressive churches, comfortable accommodations
and family dining.
As you will not want your North Cape Coastal Drive experience
to come to an end, be sure to head back into Summerside,
the seaside city where your adventure began.
