EVANGELINE As you follow the North Cape Coastal
Drive, you will enter La Région Évangéline,
a coastal area rich in natural scenery and Acadian culture.
Its people will proudly share their language, music, joie
de vivre and food.
If
you have been waiting to experience a fresh Island lobster,
wait no longer. How about a mouth-watering lobster dinner
or Acadian style buffet at the Centre Expo-Festival in
Abram-Village or a lobster picnic by the Cap-Egmont wharf?
Strike up a conversation with a fisher at one of the two
local wharves. Take a stroll along the coastline. Discover
nature’s treasures in the sand. Be amazed by the
magnitude of the sunsets on the sea!
La Région Évangéline is synonymous
to lively rhythms, especially during several festivals
held throughout the summer. Local musicians and dancers
know how to throw a party! Join in and learn to dance
a jig!
In addition to the remarkable churches and unique shops
featuring handcrafted delights, all rich with a proud
history, you will want to visit The Bottle Houses in Cap-Egmont.
Here you will find three life-size buildings made up of
over 30,000 recycled glass bottles as well as splendid
flower gardens. Be sure to have your camera ready!
Why
not experience the best in Acadian hospitality by spending
a night or two at one of the delightful accommodations
in the area including L’Hôtel Village sur
l’océan? Situated opposite the beachfront
with a breathtaking view of the ocean, you will be treated
to complete resort amenities, including heated pool, lounge,
